ISE is bringing together a multidisciplinary group of leading surgeons, surgical societies, computer engineers, AI researchers, industry innovators, and policy stakeholders. Together, we will help define national/international standards for the safe, effective, and responsible integration of artificial intelligence into surgical practice.

Using the Modified Delphi Method, expert working groups will develop consensus-based guidelines and a strategic roadmap across several key domains:

• AI-driven surgical performance metrics

• AI integration into surgical education and training

• AI-enhanced preoperative diagnosis and planning

• AI intraoperative decision support and team applications

• AI-enhanced postoperative monitoring and recovery

• Ethical, legal, and economic considerations
